WHO is "DOOMSDAY"?
"Doomsday is a rampaging, seemingly mindless, murdering monster who killed Superman. He is the result of Kryptonian genetic engineering gone awry. In "The Death of Superman" comic storyline in which he first appeared, Doomsday mysteriously bashed his way out of a metallic holding cell miles underground, dug his way up, and began senselessly killing and destroying everything he saw. His motives were initially unknown, but his nature was obvious; He was incredibly powerful, merciless, and seemingly unstoppable. He easily defeated the justice league before confronting Superman.
Doomsday is the only one in main comics continuity to ever kill Superman; and he did so simply by beating the man of steel to death. Doomsday was killed in the battle, as well, but later healed himself and returned to life, stronger than before. Superman has encountered him on numerous occasions since.

Revealed in the second trailer for the Zack Snyder-directed BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE - "Doomsday" makes it to the silver screens, with it's creation alluded to the usage of the dead General Zod (killed by Superman in "Man of Steel") - be it cloned or DNA - resulting in this devastatingly creature, who no doubt possesses super-strength, and heat vision … Let's pray he doesn't have the power of flight!
With the destructive force of his heat vision blocked by Wonder Woman's battle shield (which might give Captain America's vibranium one a run for it's money), The Trinity of Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman is see lining up to face the monster.
Regardless of outcome, here's hoping it does not lead anywhere to the "Death of Superman", and move onwards in the DC Cinematic Universe!
Since Doomsday is let out of the bag, the Justice League now needs a "big bad", which Apokalips is rumored to fill, gosh forbid they do a "marauding alien force" ala The Avengers...
But why is it, overtime a big bad creature appears on screen, they look like a mutated abortion? First glance at this dude reminded me immediately of The Abomination in The Hulk (where Edward Norton was "Dr Bruce Banner"). Everyone's rocky body (sorry "Thing" in Fantastic Four), and everyone's ugly as heck.
Another character popped into mind - "Sea King" in One Punch Man anime (Eps 8-9) - at least he was a "king" and wore a crown and swim trunks … Doomsday here looks to be naked, as all ugly creatures are, it seems. And "bald", don't forget "bald is bad" … But no, giving him a pair of tights (like the comics version) might not seem right, as well … although it sure sucks when they turn monsters, their peckers up and vanish! No wonder the dude's pissed and mentally unhinged, he's lost his ability to act on his libido MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
